Alabama's Certified Qualifying Conditions

Comprehensive Condition List:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Cancer-Related Symptoms (including cachexia, nausea/vomiting, weight loss, or chronic pain)
Chronic Pain (Pain that is persistent and significant)
Crohn’s Disease
Depression
Epilepsy or Conditions Causing Seizures
HIV/AIDS-Related Symptoms (severe nausea or weight loss)
Panic Disorder
Parkinson’s Disease
Persistent Nausea not related to pregnancy
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Sickle Cell Anemia
Spasticity associated with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) or Spinal Cord Injury
Terminal Illness with a life expectancy of less than six months
Tourette’s Syndrome
A Condition of Intractable Pain: A patient may also qualify if they have a condition causing chronic or intractable pain where conventional therapeutic intervention and opiate therapy are contraindicated or have been ineffective.
